amazing fish
These aren’t real fish. They are paintings in resin. Watch the video to see how they are made.
Inspiration
Take 6 minutes and 49 seconds to enjoy this.
I love the part where she pauses in the to think about what to do next.
I love that she’s creating.
I love how she says good bye to here Dad?/Grampa?
I love illustrating and animating cats because you get to do expressive tails.
Side note. I got stuck in a major cute spiral when pulling up this clip.
I think it took me twenty minutes to pull myself away. YouTube asked me if I wanted to watch British Shorthair Kittens playing ? um yes, yes of coarse- no wait I’m trying to do things right now.
getting away
I’ve been going through photos from this year and found these from when Dan and I took a little end of the summer weekend away up to St. Josephs Michigan. I relaxed enough to get really inspired about a project in a way that I hadn’t been in a while.
A couple of hours away and a couple of days at a B and B on the beach. That’s all it took. As we chatted over coffee and later beer I came up with the idea for my cat/pancake movie.
Then today I saw this TED talk about the value of sabbaticals and how they strengthen your work.
No commentsSomething sweet for the New Year
Let’s bring in the New Year with something lovely.
This reminds me of Komoneko because it’s sweet, poetic, a little funny and a little sad.
