Bio I
was born and raised in Westerville, Ohio,
the hometown of Benjamin
Hanby, author of the Christmas
carol “Up on the Housetop”. When
I was eleven, The Hanby House
sponsored a contest to draw the historic site. After winning first
place, I received a certificate and got my picture in the paper.
I went on to attend the Columbus College of Art and Design in Columbus,
Ohio, having been encouraged
by my early success.
After graduation, I moved to Chicago to pursue my
artistic career. Mr. Hanby also moved to Chicago in 1865 and died
of tuberculosis
in
1867.
I, on the other hand, have enjoyed a successful career working
for a
variety of clients. Some of them include Massage Therapy Journal,
Craft Magazine and the Lincoln Park Zoo.
I am currently living in Chicago and working as a freelance illustrator.
Arsonist Cow Studio The
Great Chicago Fire of 1871 inspired the name for this site. It was
alleged that the fire started in the
barn of Catherine
O’Leary, when her cow knocked over a lantern. A reporter admitted
later that he made up the tale because he thought it was a good story
for the paper. But it was such a popular myth that today people still
associate the Chicago fire with Mrs. O’Leary’s cow.

Lincoln
Park Zoo Here are the illustrations I did for an exhibit
at the Lincoln Park Zoo called Into the Woods. It's a children's zoo featuring
animals from North America.
Very cool.
